Is Moonshiners Master distiller real?
Whether you happened upon this phenomenon randomly while channel surfing or you’ve been a long-time fan of Discovery Channel’s hit TV show “Moonshiners”, you may have pondered at some point: Is this real life? The short answer is: No, it’s television.
This is not reality. But here’s the question you should be asking: Is any of it real? When shows like “The Real World”, “Survivor”, “Fear Factor” and “American Idol” debuted generations ago, the concept of reality TV was groundbreaking. Now, with hundreds if not thousands of reality shows coming and going in the intervening years, viewers are savvier.
Our expectations have changed. Do we still think that everyone who brings an exotic item into Rick’s pawn shop just walked in off the street? Have we ever found it odd that every time the “American Pickers” arrive at someone’s house, even on “surprise” visits, the homeowner is all mic’d up? Do we think if the cast of the Discovery Network show “Moonshiners” had really been thumbing their nose at the revenuers for twelve seasons, somebody, somewhere wouldn’t have gotten busted?

Over 120 years ago Doc Collier was making moonshine on English Mountain in the Smokies, using some of the freshest mountain water around. Continuing this tradition we still truck in water directly from the source of his first batch, to cut our shine to the right proof. We learned a long time ago you shouldn’t mess with a good thing! Our family has never been about fads.
Great-Great Grandpa William ‘Doc’ Collier traveled these mountains on horseback delivering his moonshine before moonshine was even a word. This at a time when an honest man knew he could find a stiff drink in our neck of the woods. Enjoy what many fine Appalachians already know and stop by our distillery the next time you visit Gatlinburg! Our selection currently includes: 80 Proof

Tim Smith has been legally distilling moonshine for a few years now, and his little empire just keeps growing. Let’s take a moonshinin’ to his net worth. By May 11 2022, Published 7:38 p.m. ET Other than possessing a secret family recipe and the knowledge needed to stay away from authorities, you only need one more thing to become a top-notch moonshine distiller. You need to be a character, and Tim Smith is definitely a character.
- Tim has been a fixture on the Discovery Channel’s popular show Moonshiners since Season 1 dropped in 2011.
- Article continues below advertisement With his signature overalls, often sans shirt, and endearing commitment to his family’s moonshine legacy, it’s hard not to like Tim Smith,
- It was especially touching to witness Tim turn his illegal business into something bona fide in May 2013.
It’s been nearly a decade since he partnered up with Belmont Farm Distillery where his signature Climax Moonshine was born, and it’s still going strong. With Moonshiners, its spinoffs, and his own legal moonshine, folks are curious about Tim Smith’s net worth.
